Malcolm Locke - Director and CEO
Malcolm is an electronic design engineer specialising in high speed digital design, FPGA design and VHDL. He is the first point of contact for customer enquiries.
Malcolm graduated in Electronic Engineering at Imperial College, London and then worked on experimental Sonar Systems and advanced processing systems at Plessey, Marconi and Thales.
In 1994 he left Thales and founded Locke’s Digital Developments (now LDD Technology) to enable him to continue to use and develop his electronic design skills in a more flexible environment that would encourage innovation and the use of new tools and technologies.
Malcolm is responsible for the overall management of LDD Technology and is also very involved the design process, undertaking many complex designs.
Kate Locke – Director and CFO
Kate co-founded Locke’s Digital Developments with Malcolm in 1994. Kate has a background in banking and is responsible for all aspects of the financial management of the business.
As the business has grown from strength to strength so has her role! Kate now manages the business Finance, Accounts, HR, & Health & Safety and all other non-technical aspects of the business.
Kate’s main goal is to give both our Customers and Suppliers a service that is second to none to match the technical service provided by our designers.
John Baldwin – Technical Consultant
After completing an Honours Degree in Communication Engineering at Plymouth Polytechnic in 1981, John joined Plessey Marine designing circuit boards for major sonar projects and innovative experimental systems, whilst at the same time developing skills in DSP and in many different software languages.
In 1996 he left what had become a part of the Thales Group to support Malcolm at Locke’s Digital Developments where he has continued developing his skills on complex and tight timescale electronic design projects. These provide the opportunity for him to use his broad knowledge to influence system designs and to contribute innovative ideas.
John enjoys using state of the art tools to design all aspects of digital electronic systems including schematics, PCBs, VHDL, analogue circuits and embedded software.
In his spare time, John is the Technical Manager at a local theatre, where he is also able to use his electrical, electronic, software and DSP skills working with light and sound.
Jen Harrison – Production Coordinator
Jen started working for LDD 4 years ago, coming from a background in administration.
Jen’s main role is testing LDD designed circuit boards to fulfil customer orders. She is also responsible for order tracking, packing and ensuring that orders are despatched to meet customer commitments.
“I really enjoy my work, being part of such a creative, dedicated and friendly team.”
